NOTES
Temperature profiles are based primarily on compound durometer and desired melt flow properties. The following profile and stock temperatures are recommended as starting conditions. Variations to these conditions should be made based on screw and die design, equipment wear and product throughput.

TEMPERATURE PROFILE—Standard cool to hot (hopper to die) profiles are common for general purpose compounds.

DIE DESIGN—Streamlined low intensity dies are recommended for melt processing PVC compounds.

SCREW DESIGN—Standard general purpose screws may be used to process flexible PVC compounds. The recommended length over diameter (L/D) range for the screw is 16/1 through 24/1. Recommended compression ratio range is 2/1 to 3/1.

PVC compounds are thermal and shear sensitive materials, care should be exercised to avoid excessive heats or delays during the extrusion process.
